Description
Helical wall ties are ideal for tying thin-joint block work and other materials where joints in inner and outer leaves are not aligned.
Ties are hammered directly into Aircrete blocks, through an insulation layer and built into the bed joints of the outer leaf of brickwork. Work hardened helical blades force the tie to cut a self-tapping helical thread as installation proceeds.
The helical profile of the tie includes moisture shedding troughs to prevent the transfer of moisture across the cavity.
Benefits
The passive helical interlock connection exerts no expansive crushing stress to the Aircrete. Loads are spread evenly along the full penetrative length of the helix, providing reliability of connection.
The performance advantage offered by the Thin Joint Wall Tie stems its engineered twisting accuracy (Patent EP1307303), which forms an unrivalled tightly mating interlock within the Aircrete to provide superior performance.
